“In my house are many rooms. If it were not so I would have told you. I go now to prepare a place for you.”
– Jesus of Nazareth to any of His disciples
While all roads may lead to Rome, the Roman Road leads home…..
God has a purpose and a plan for each one of us. He loves us unconditionally. In fact, the Bible says that, “God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
The problem is that our own sinful nature gets in the way. It separates us from God even to the point where we don’t even want a relationship with God. We aren’t sinners because we do bad things; we do bad things because we’re sinners. Once again the Bible says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” and again, “There is no one righteous, not even one.” (Romans 3:23 and 3:10) Our sin not only prevents us from having a relationship with a holy God. It prevents us from having truly intimate relationships with each other. And it causes death. God has decreed that, “The wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23a)
But God loves us too much to abandon us. He has provided the way for us to escape: “… but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b) God has provided the way out. He has paid the penalty for our sin. All we have to do is accept His gift. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Is that all there is? There’s got to be more, right? No! God tells us, “that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
That’s all there is to it. God doesn’t want you to wait until you’re good enough – you never will be. He wants you just the way you are. He’ll change you. The power of God is demonstrated in changed lives.
If you’d like to accept God’s gift and come home to a home that will last forever, then pray this prayer:
Lord, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and that you raised him from the dead. I accept your gift of salvation and accept Jesus as my personal savior. Make me what you want me to be. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, welcome home! Now you have to tell someone. Please let us know. Let your friends know. If you would like more information about your new life in Christ or would like the name of a bible believing church in your area please contact us at: info@CoughlinHomes.com
